The Waiting Is The Hardest Part. Part 2

My surgery is scheduled for February 13th. I don't really mind that it happens to be FRIDAY THE 13th. What worries me is that it seems so far away. That would make it 22 days after I was told I have cancer and 34 days after I discovered the lump. I just wonder how much damage it can do in that amount of time. What scares me the most is the possibility that it could spread to my lymph nodes during that time.

My Dad was told he had cancer and 26 days later he passed away. My Mom, on the other hand, was told she had two lumps in her breast. One was benign (non-cancer) and one was malignant (cancer). She had to wait 2 weeks for the surgery and the doctors took out the wrong lump. Then we had to wait another 2 weeks and they removed the correct lump, but  a week later they told us that they did not remove enough.....so we had to wait another 2 weeks for them to go in and do the surgery a third time.  The third surgery took care of all the cancer and she had to do five weeks of radiation. She does not drive the freeway so she drove to the hospital everyday and a shuttle took her to LA for her radiation. She was so strong during the whole ordeal. I was and am very proud of her. I only hope that I can be as strong.
