I have IDC and had a lumpectemy a month ago. My oncologist suggests that I do chemo. My oncotype is 30, EP is positve and HER2 negative. I think after reading of these comments, I am better off going through with Chemo than not. Thank you all.

Comment on Oncotype DX Test Results - Score of 20 & My decision on whether to do chemo

Thanks for the info. Not looking forward to the chemo but my oncologist did not make it seem so bad 5CMU I think. Once every 3 weeks for 8 times.<br />Fingers crossed.

Comment on Oncotype DX Test Results - Score of 20 & My decision on whether to do chemo

I would do the chemo if I were in your shoes. You will be over and done with it before you know it and you will know that you have done everything you could to prevent it from coming back. It was 2 years ago this January that I was diagnosed with Cancer. I had both chemo &amp; radiation. It seems like so long ago now. My hair has grown back and is shoulder length. Life is back to normal for me and has been for a while. I am so glad that I chose to do the chemo! I wish you the best of luck in whichever decision you make.

Comment on Oncotype DX Test Results - Score of 20 & My decision on whether to do chemo

Thanks for all the posts. Had bilateral mastectomy on FEB 17-2011. What a day to remember. I did have immediate expanders put in both sides. Now I had Stage 1 Invasive ductal carcinoma. 3 on my right breast. Since then I saw the oncologist and he did the oncotype which came back with a score of 22 not what we expected but now I need to decide on chemo. With this score my recorrence rate is 14% plus the original 5%. I just turned 49 and have 3 teens. Not sure what to do, what would you do my friends??

Comment on Day One: Taxotere and Cytoxan Chemo Treatment - My Personal Journal

Thank you for taking the time to write this. Just came from meeting with my oncologist. Like you also 20 OncotypeDX score, ER +, Her2Nue score not elevated, lymph nodes negative. Thought my decision was just chemo or no, but now there is also a monthly shot of Zoladex which stops ovaries from producing estrogen. It's being used a lot in Europe, but not so much in the US and no long term studies completed at this time. The chemo regimen recommended would be same as yours. Lots to decide. Again, appreciate you candor.

Comment on Coupon for a free Orange Julius Smoothie

While going through this post I felt that you have done a lot of research on the topic, I appreciate your efforts and glad that I found your blog.
